Under the slogan, “Start with Yourself First”
“Co-operate in good and piety and do not co-operate in sin and transgression.”1
- I will not pay bribes to traffic officers again, or to the government bureaucracy
- I will not throw my trash on the street
- I will not harass girls or even flirt with them
- I will report to the Consumer Protection Agency at these numbers (33055762 – 3355795 – 33538380) whenever I find someone selling over cost2
- I will not be negative, and to anyone who does wrong, I will tell him to his face.
- I will file a report against any violations by policemen — even if it’s an officer driving a police car and going the wrong way
- I will be proud of my country in front of foreigners, I won’t be ashamed of my country and I’ll say it’s the best country in the world
- I will help people who need help
- I will treat people with respect and appreciate their circumstances and their hardship
- I will respect my work and be conscientious about it
- I will obey traffic laws
- I will obey the Metro tunnel rules, i.e. I’ll use the entrance doors when entering and the exit doors when exiting so I don’t hurt anyone
- No one will be considered better than anyone else and we’ll treat each other equally, the rich and the poor
- I will know my legal rights and duties in Egypt so that no one violates my rights or anyone else’s
Copy this sheet and post it so people read it and know their duties.
The 25 January revolution isn’t just a chance for political change in Egypt and that’s all, but a chance for every person to prove to himself and to others that he’s a real citizen and a real Egyptian.
